IC Prospective 5th year Gryffindor

Character: Arthur Pendragon
Mun: Otter
Plot specific: Nope.

Does anybody care to explain to me, why we have to learn about Muggle public transport? I mean, it's not like most of us are really ever going to use it.

Further more, what do Oysters have to do with it, and why are they on cards?

Muggle public transport is stupid, who wants to use it anyway when wizards can Apparate, that's a million times cooler and faster than those dinky dirty metal boxes on wheels!

And brooms are awesome!! The best! There's nothing that can beat flying!! And I should know, because I'm the Great Gilbert and I'm the best flyer in Hogwarts and everyone else can go and cry to their mommies because they'll never be as amazing as me!

You need to get your eyes checked Princie because only the Great Gilbert can pull off all those spectacular dives with his lightning fast reflexes and eagle sharp eyes! All the other wimps wet their pants when I grace my divine presence on the pitch, because I sustain myself on their delicious tears of LOSING and PAIN and JEALOUSY.

I'll teach those Muggles how to run their public transport better! A genius wizard like myself is exactly what those unenlightened and backward people need! It'll never be as good as what wizards have, of course, because they've got no magic, but hey, with my brilliance and originality I'll come up with something that'll help them in their dull, boring lives.

Yeah. In your dreams Princie! You fly OK, but like all lower mortals you still pale before the glory that is the Amazing Me.

Hey, these are my ideas. Go get your own!! I'm not going to let you take the credit for my shinning intelligence.

That's because your brain isn't big enough to comprehend how incredibly awesome I am! It's a pity because you'll never know what true greatness is, but I suppose not everyone's born for greatness anyway.

And you're damn right my teeth shine, because my teeth is the shiniest you'll ever see!! Even the sun can't compare!!

Don't worry Princie, one day you'll learn to recognize what makes a man a man, and what makes me, well, me!

Well, that's because only one man can be both the King of Fools and the King of Kings AND make it all look good and work out, and that's me!!!
proud_and_prussian: <lj user=longboats> (Hah!)

[personal profile] proud_and_prussian 2013-03-16 06:04 am (UTC)(link)
You don't even know what greatness is, so how can you know what makes a man? Face it, you need a prescription for those eyes! Go see a Healer NOW because you must be really sick to not recognize how truly amazing and glorious the Great Gilbert is!

See? See? I don't even need to use my wand! I'm so epic that my body sweats out magic! There's just too much power inside me!!

Presumably because you're in a Muggle Studies class, which is an elective, by the way. What did you think it was about, if not Muggle things?

Are you really that daft? No, wait, forget I asked that question.

Perhaps you're not aware of this, but the use of magic is not actually a matter of simply putting in a certain amount of effort - people are either born with magic or without it. If it was a matter of skill or talent, you would doubtless be a squib.

If you're asking if there are students out there more stupid than you are, then yes, of course. There's always someone more stupid.

I'm merely pointing out that the very question you're asking points to your general inability to come to logical conclusions on your own. You've actually provided little thoughts on Muggles at all, other than your vague implication that there's something wrong with them because they can't do magic, something which you apparently find easy.

You don't use seafood, it's just pictures. Surely the concept of symbols and logos isn't utterly foreign to you, I know wizards use them as well.

And you've clearly learned nothing from your class if you honestly think that's all Muggles do. Or if you think they don't believe in magic - lots of them do, actually. It doesn't give them magical blood, though. And you seem to have forgotten that it's wizards who have hidden themselves from Muggles, not Muggles who have stopped believing.

Actually, I have heard people call the Gryffindor scarves lion scarves, and Gryffindors lions. Perhaps you might like to clean out your ears a bit, and you might hear it, too. Just remember not to push the wand in too far.

And no, actually, I'm not.

[He practically is - he's a halfblood who was mostly raised by his Muggle mother, but no reason to admit that.]

Some kids use it during the breaks if they just need to get out of the house.

You forget about the Knight Bus. That's an example of Wizards using and modifying Muggle technology. I doubt they'd bother if Wizarding transportation is so perfect.
Sure, you can Apparate, but if you need to get somewhere where you can't such as here or the Ministry you'll need some sort of alternative.

Personally I like Muggle transportation. Motorcycles are awesome.

Oh I wouldn't say that. I think all forms of public transit stink in some way. Doesn't matter if they're Muggle or Wizard.

The Hogwarts train is pretty convienient for people who live far away though. I'm sure trying to wrangle your entire family via a magical transport method can be a chore.

No, but they're awesome. I'd take traveling by one of those than Apparating or the Floo network any day.
