Reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated! Probably. Because let's be honest here: we can't be completely sure that Hogwarts isn't some form of incredibly specific purgatory. The goal, then, is not graduation but the acceptance of our unlives and ascension to our true afterlife for all the good or ill that entails! We just can't rule it out! Maybe we've all been dead this whole time! I, for one, feel as my return to the journal system is some peculiar form of reincarnation. I am literally reborn!! The wheel of karma keeps spinning and spinning and spinning and spinning, but we live in a universe governed by atrophy, so it's all gotta crash and burn SOMETIME!

Now where was I?

Oh yeah, how very alive I felt this summer. So alive it took a fight with 15 people at the Quidditch World Cup to knock me out! I won't go into the many, many sordid, detailed, and excellent reasons on why they deserved to have their heads knocked around a bit on account of the fact that I can't remember any of those reasons.

Long story short, I'm on probation from the Wizengamot. No Quidditch until they say so. Which is completely fine, by the way. Doesn't bother me one bit. I'll just find another outlet.

You know what we should do with magic? Cloning. That would be neat, wouldn't it? I mean... Clones! More yous to hang out with! Who wouldn't want that?

I don't think that would really be an Alchemy thing, though. I'd need some help. Maybe I can make a "let's figure out how to make clones" club. People would join that, right? It's better than a Table Top RPG club. Oh, sure, that stuff seems fun, but let me tell you -- No! When I was a boy, I had a very traumatic experience with table top rpg. I threw the dice and they knocked over a glass of milk! The entire game was ruined, and everyone blamed me, but was I the one who brought milk to the table? No! And that is why I hate table top roleplay games, and also the expression 'don't cry over spilled milk'.

Great. Now there are far too many people in the dorms. I don't understand why Dumbledore and the rest of the teachers couldn't find somewhere else to place the Ravenclaws and Hufflepuffs. The Slytherin dungeons are small as is, and with this many people in here I have no idea how I'm even going to get a good night sleep. Not to mention what the mornings are going to be like, attempting to get ready.

I should have stayed in Italy for the first few weeks. That would have been less stressful.

If anyone touches my stuff you'll be getting whatever the most disgusting hex I can think of cast on you. So try and be smart, like you Ravens supposed to be and don't.

I can't wait to get back to school. There's supposed to be loads of new astronomical events coming up soon, and the towers at Hogwarts are one of the best places to observe the stars. Open skies, high vantage points. They're perfect!

I was even able to find a telescope in Diagon Alley that lets me record the sky as I use it. I'm really excited to use it. Just a few more days until I can, now!

[Ib's parents have just bought her a journal, but between the three of them they were still figuring out how to use it. For the moment her parents have gone off to work, and she's taken to doodling all over her journals. Some of it includes some sketches on what she thinks Hogwarts looks like; others include doodles of herself in a robe with a wand. She has also drawn the Hogwarts crest, and is at the moment colouring it with some crayons.

Apparently, she forgot that the journal works as a network between students and teachers. On the bright side, her drawings aren't bad, and are rather pleasing to the eye.]
