To notice you? That would be certainly best but I think that might just annoy him even more! Although, it would be a good option if he rejects me.

Jeez, what crawled into his underwear and died if he'd be annoyed by you hitting him? It's not like you're punching his lights out, it's more of a 'hey, I'm over here, dummy'.

Oh come on. How's he going to notice you if you don't do anything to get his attention? A light tap might make him think you're swatting a fly off him or something.
