Character: Molly Hooper
Mun: Risa
Plot specific: Nope!

[There was no way that Molly was going to out herself on this so she'll pretend to be anonymous right now]

So recently, I've been having a problem.

Can anyone tell me what's the best way to get someone to notice you?

Well, people are very aware of the hazards of fire. Women are even instructed to shout 'fire' instead of 'rape' if they are being attacked. Really, for best overall effect, fire is the way to go.

Unless you mean notice as in getting them to speak to you. In which case an audible connection on mutual interest is the standard means.

People talk all the time; it’s hardly the same as actually connecting in conversation. “Hello, how are you?” “Isn’t the weather lovely?” “My, what a nice jumper you’re wearing!” Utter drivel. Dull. Awful. It’s a waste of everyone’s time and a complete write off as far as speech is concerned. Conversing should be the exchange of ideas and higher thinking. Not about whether or not it looks like rain.
3potionproblem: (is that so)

Me? Not exactly what I could call a good example of normal men. I prefer conversations about means of death and execution. Rate of decomposition, the kinds of insects that lay their young in dead tissue and how the larval stages can give clues to the time of death. Macabre things, traditionally, but I have a mostly academic interest in them.

Well, the reason for the death can mean either the motive of the killer or natural forces at play that cause the life to be extinguished. It’s a fascinating realm of study. Bit preoccupied with my muggle studies at present but I fully intend to return to my studies in death when I’m away from a place that considered my experiments in that field a reason to contact Mummy.

What it sounds like and what it is are not the same thing. But it is exactly why Mummy gets an owl in the morning with her tea and I end up getting an impromptu visit from Mycroft. I do want to learn the Dark Arts but only to understand how they work, their signs, anything that will help me determine death via their usage. It’s sad that I may never be at the bad end of a crucio curse. Experiencing something like that is the best means of information one can hope to get—far better than simple first hand accounts.
