I'm sick of studying already and it's not even O.W.Ls yet. Astrology's just about my best subject right now though, but that's only because I pretty much already know about the stars. Like did you know red dwarf stars only burn a little bit of fuel because they're small? That's the reason why they're called red dwarf stars, because the coolest part is at the tip where it glows red.

Same old stuff.

And now that your daily PSA about astronomy is done, I think I might head out to the Quidditch pitch.

Oh, that's cool. The red dwarf star thing; I didn't know that. I like to chart stars, so I know a lot about constellations and positioning, but not so much about the science of them.

But you know, Jim, studying can be less of a pain when you do it with a group.

The science is kinda interesting. I only know about it because of an astrologist that lives with me and my mum at the Leaky Cauldron. He sets me summer homework sometimes.

Y'know studying with others can also be annoying, Rapunzel?

Oh, really? I didn't know you lived with an astrologist. I'm glad you're learning from him.

Yeah. He's an old friend of the family's. It's kinda good since in summer you can see the stars better. When I was a kid he used to make the lights around the Cauldron go out so we could look at the stars.

I tried it before and it...didn't work out. Ben's kinda a loud mouth.

You like astronomy, eh? You should meet my granddad, he loves it. I admit to being a bit fond of it too, if only because of him.

Well I like it good enough, yeah. I only really know a lot about it 'cause of a family friend.

Is this family friend a girl?

If it is, maybe I should hook her up with granddad, god knows he needs a mate.

Pffffff no. Merlin knows Dr Doppler could use a friend or two though. It might actually get him out of the Cauldron once in a while.

Well he makes house calls and stuff since he's kinda a healer first, astronomer second, but that's as far as getting out goes. He always took care of me when mum was too busy in the bar when I was younger.

Oi, and I thought mum was bad. Leaving you alone with an astronomy nut while she hits the bars? That's tough.

Er, not that way. Mum's the manager at the Leaky Cauldron so she was always busy with work.

I dunno. I can check? I know mum's always looking for a helping hand when it gets busy around back to school time.
