For a school with a fairly prestigious reputation, Hogwarts students don't seem to have a very high regard for academics.

It's shameful. And, for an academic institution, strangely resistant to any new ideas whatsoever.

It does seem strange that Hogwarts has changed so little since its foundation. Although I think the basic tenets of the Founders should be respected.

In my opinion, tradition should only be kept so long as it's useful. We can't make progress if we cling to the past and outdated conceptions of the relationship between blood and magic!
