Goodness, I'm not sure how I feel about this survival training! It sounds kind of scary.

I'm not sure I'd ever use it, really, either! I hope not, at least... 

I think I have other problems to deal with this year, anyway. Today I forgot where the restrooms closest to the astronomy tower were, and I was directed to the ladies' room again. Not to mention the fact that my robes are a bit baggy! I could have sworn they fit when I tried them on at Madam Malkin's...

whatever the teachers have for survival training here can't possibly compare to what we go through at home. it will be simple-peasy, like breathing. and you can always use survival training. it teaches you how to survive.

espcially if you are mistaken regularly for a girl.

it means you are weak and puny and need more muscles.

I hardly think that's fair. There are plenty of girls in this school who are strong and such.

there are just as many who are weak and wibbly and cry when pushed to the ground. you are a man. you are supposed to be strong always.

it is because you are skinny and have no muscles and are afraid of spending a few nights out in the woods, yes.

sure, you could argue that. but what if you end up in the woods some day for some reason or another, and there is no one around but you? you cannot predict the future, you can only prepare for it. with training, you will not be caught unaware. and there will be others with you, if your so delicate sweety-gentleness is in need of rescue.

Oh, well I guess I never thought of that. I always hoped I'd never have to use something like that!

that is not at all shocking. it is fun. there are campfires and hunting.

What would we be hunting in these woods?

theres centaurs, acromantulas, hippogrifs, thestrals, and supposedly a few unicorns. none of which are particularly good for eating, and it's illegal to kill unicorns, so there probably will not be much hunting anything bigger than squirels, birds, or rabbits.

which is considerably less exciting than hippogrifs.

Oh, my! I don't think I'd like hunting any of those things... Big or small!


Rabbits are kind of unsettling.

Apparently some of the professors are going to be teaching survival skills come October. While the Headmaster said it was optional, the very idea is rather nerve-racking!

Unless you're planning to go out into the forest or something, but why the Hell would you want to do that?
