Hell9, students 9f H9gwarts and students at heart. 6eginning this m9st auspici9us year at 9ur prestigi9us academy, there are n9netheless s9me predictca6le c9cnerns to 6e raised in any such diverse gr9up 9f individuals. I shall attempt t9 6e 6rief.
9ver time I have n9ticed a startling lack of c9ncern f9r the feelings of y9ur fell9w students and staff. It pains me t9 see infighting and disc9rd t9 this degree. Theref9re I w9uld like t9 9ffer my inexhausti6le skill as a mediat9r, alth9ugh I am n9 l9nger technically 9ne 9f y9ur peers. If y9u have any c9ncerns, feel free to appr9ach me at any time. I will d9 my 6est to pr9vide a n9njudgmental envir9nment t9 f9ster g99dwill and free and in9ffensive discussion 6etween all parties inv9lved.
Enj9y the new year, every9ne, and warmest welc9me back t9 H9gwarts!
Hello, students of Hogwarts and students at heart. Beginning this most auspicious year at our prestigious academy, there are nonetheless some predictable concerns to be raised in any such diverse group of individuals. I shall attempt to be brief.
Over time I have noticed a startling lack of concern for the feelings of your fellow students and staff. It pains me to see infighting and discord to this degree. Therefore I would like to offer my inexhaustible skill as a mediator, although I am no longer technically one of your peers. If you have any concerns, feel free to approach me at any time. I will do my best to provide a nonjudgmental environment to foster goodwill and free and inoffensive discussion between all parties involved.
Enjoy the new year, everyone, and warmest welcome back to Hogwarts!

:33 < but it only works if people are willing to listen
:33 < and sadly i dont think everyone is
:33 < i think...
:33 < somehow grabbing the attention of others is important too
:33 < but the way to do that is so circumstantial
:33 < it would take a lot of
:33 < i dunno
:33 < individual work i guess?
:33 < we dont have any kind of counselor which most muggle schools do
:33 < which i think would be super helpful
:33 < that way we can do group activities
:33 < and get to know each other
:33 < and maybe even do things where we can live in the shoes of others fur a day or so
:33 < im not sure
:33 < but i think fur a lot of people a greater impact is made
:33 < through experience
:33 < by the way
:33 < im really really sorry but
:33 < how do you know my name?
:33 < i dont think weve ever met
:33 < have we?

D9 y9u have any ideas 9f h9w t9 gra6 the attenti9n 9f 9thers? I agree that in 9rder t9 get pe9ple t9 listen, y9u must first make them want t9 hear, 6ut I, unf9rtunately have l9st track 9f what exactly it is t9 6e in a p9siti9n t9 h9ld much sway at all.
A c9unsel9r is a w9nderful idea. Perhaps since we d9n’t have such a thing we sh9uld find s9me9ne wh9 w9uld 6e a6le t9 undertake th9se kinds 9f ideas and 9rganize gr9up activities. Perhaps y9u c9uld 6e the 9ne t9 9rganize it, since they’re all y9ur w9nderful ideas. Y9u c9uld start a clu6 – 9r at least h9ld 9ccasi9nal exercises t9, exactly as y9u said, f9ster a sense 9f 6r9therh99d and g99dwill am9ngst y9ur peers. Wh9 6etter than 9ne 9f their 9wn t9 lead it?
9h.
I’m a friend 9f y9ur father’s.

:33 < and maybe i can ask miss maryam to be a proctor
:33 < i think shed be a great choice
:33 < though i do have another club going on already
:33 < i dont think id be a very good choice for it anyway :((

I am Kankri. I knew y9ur father 6ack in his sch99l days, 6ut I am afraid that I haven’t 6een a6le t9 keep up as much as I w9uld have liked t9, 9ver the years in 6etween. Time can 6ring impermea6le rifts 6etween us and th9se we l9ve like that.
Yes, I d9 6elieve D9l9res w9uld 6e a splendid ch9ice t9 pr9ct9r a guidance clu6. Y9u have a very keen eye f9r pe9ple, my dear.
N9w n9w, d9n’t sell y9urself sh9rt like that. Fr9m what I have heard, y9u have a wealth 9f advice t9 share with y9ur peers. Y9u are wise 6ey9nd y9ur years, Miss Nepeta, and if I were y9u I w9uldn’t let any9ne tell me differently.
If y9u w9uld like s9me9ne t9 speak t9, I am perfectly happy t9 lend a n9njudgmental ear t9 y9ur tr9u6les. Any child 9f Salvad9r’s is welc9me t9 c9nfide in me as much as they are c9mf9rta6le d9ing s9. I w9uld like t9 intr9duce myself t9 y9u in pers9n at the start 9f year feast, alth9ugh I understand if y9u are hesitant a69ut greeting the living impaired.

He said he was a friend so she's hesitant to ask, but how many Kankris could her father know? It's not exactly a common name. She bites her lip, uncertain of how to feel. Sad, definitely. Curious, more so. At the moment she's more worried about how her dad is going to take this. Before she jumps to any conclusions she's going to have to confirm this.]
:33 < kankri?
:33 < as in
:33 < dads brother?
:33 < my uncle?

Yes, I am Kankri Vantas.
Astutely 96served, Nepeta.
I'm glad t9 kn9w that my 6r9ther still remem6ers me f9ndly.

:33 < your his brother
:33 < he loves you very much
[Nepeta almost feels like she talking to a mythological figure. She had seen pictures and heard stories but Kankri had died before she had even been born. It takes her a moment before she is able to gather herself enough to write agan.]
:33 < id really really like to m33t you too
no subject
I am glad t9 hear that, Nepeta. Th9ugh I am anat9mically disp9ssessed, I w9uld like y9u t9 kn9w that y9u can c9me t9 me whenever y9u want s9me9ne t9 talk t9. Y9u are a bright y9ung lady, and I w9uld 6e h9n9red t9 get t9 kn9w y9u 6etter.

:33 < i think at furst a little yea
:33 < but i also think then hell be really really happy
:33 < to have the oppurrtunity to be able to s33 and speak with you again
:33 < aww
:33 < thank you very much! <3
:33 < its nice to know there is someone i can go to
:33 < so i might take you up on that offur someday :33

I h9pe y9u're right. While I have watched 9ver him f9r the past 18 years, it isn't the same as 6eing there f9r him.
A6s9lutely, my dear, and I shall make myself quite easy t9 find fr9m n9w 9n. I am fairly certain that I am the 9nly gh9st wh9 wears a jumper, th9ugh I sh9uld h9pe t9 assume that y9u will have n9 pr9blem rec9gnising me.
