I hope I don't need to remind you that a new school year is not an excuse for new shenanigans. I've already had to stop some third-years from cursing the toilets, and there should be no need for me to explain why that is not at all appropriate. The restrooms are disgusting as they are without additional tampering.

It's times like these that I wish certain forms of punishment hadn't become unacceptable centuries ago.

Oh, and here I always wondered if they'd ever make use of the giant squid.

I'm not sure a rap on the knuckles will be all that effective - the pain lasts for all but a minute - detention can (at times) be far more excruciating; not physically, but mentally - in the numbest of ways.

Though I suppose those with simpler minds might not observe the dangers of non-physical atrophy.

It's been done in the past. Of course, some students like to think that the squid is friendly, but I doubt they'd still say so if they were dangled above the lake.

You overestimate the minds of the masses. Nonetheless, I'm sure I could think of a few things more effective than my initial example, but you are a young lady.
