I was told it will help me communicate with others, but that is foolishness.

The only ones I 'need' to understand me are the professors and Father. I have done perfectly fine up until now with that alone.

Oh, foolishness. Definite, DEFINITE foolishness! After all, you're such an open, chatty type, always babbling away all the little things that swirl through your head! It's like I can't even hear MYSELF think over all your talking, and that's taking into account the fact that my thoughts are always yelling! Clearly, absolutely no need for you to use the journal system, nope.
