Alright, listen up, Hogwarts! I know it's been some time since you've had a proper professor for your musical needs in this place and I'm here to fix that. Forget music with magic, that makes everything so dull and boring! Muggles are the ones that know real music, ones that come with error and practice making you perfect.

Mind you I'm pretty damn perfect, but that's a story for another time entirely. The name's Vinyl Scratch, but you can call me Vinyl for short. Ignore what your schedules say, you'll be getting an earful if you call me by what that thing calls me. Legal names are boring and aren't something that I use anymore, so no use in you kids calling me that if I don't answer to it.

For my poor co-workers, I feel I ought to let you know that shaking you'll feel that's knocking over your stuff is just what I'm doing. Nothing exploded, promise! Dubstep and cranked up bass lines are where muggle music is currently at, making it a necessary evil you'll just have to deal with.

Kids, one more thing for you, I'm sort of new to this whole teaching business so cut me a bit of slack. I'll be learning right along with you, but I can guarantee you it won't be dull and boring like the rest of your classes.

Dubstep.

It's a type of electronic dance music that started in South London. Typically you can tell it from other forms of that genre by the energy that's in it. Overwhelming bass lines, reverberant drum patterns, clipped samples, and sometimes you get some wonderful vocals to back it up.

If that, uh, made any sense to you. I get a bit carried away sometimes.

That's the beauty of music, there's kinds for all types of folks. Dubstep's something I'm fond of, but hey, my likes aren't someone else's likes.

I agree completely. Something might not be my cup of tea but I can appreciate all forms of musice.

What can I say? I'm always a heartbreaker. I play guitar and bass and I can sing. I'm more of a rock and grunge kind of guy but I'll play some pop stuff if people ask.
