While I understand that as a student one cannot simply ignore the opportunities to cause chaos when presented with such a situation, I strongly encourage everyone to please do as they are told and avoid stealing into the Forbidden Forest. Things could get... messy.

You're blown from glass too, even though you hide behind stone. You might want to be wary, sometimes people like to chuck stones through glass.

Oh but then you're missing the details. Glass is just that, glass, little else in it save for quartz sand. Ice on the other hand can contain many things. Particularly ice found in nature - all those sediments in the water making the core, including rocks.

In either case, when the two objects shatter, you have to be careful of the shards that come flying out.
