IC Perspective: Dipper Pines (second year)

Soooooo I guess it goes without saying that there's weird things happening around the school again. Well, I mean it is a magic school so I guess I'm stating the obvious here.

This is like last year.

Um...if anyone sees multiple mes around, could you direct them to the library? I'm looking up spells that could've caused this and the more hands the better it'll be.

Wait, what?

You mean, like, spectral-y and stuff?

Yeah.

Oh my god.

I don't think I actually died!

I can't find my body anywhere!

I'm just ...a ghost, I guess.

Oh...well that's...good?

I'm not sure what to say right now.

Its okay. I'll ...float around and try to spot your clones.

And I'll continue to look through the spell books in the library. Both for me and you now.

I'm up to Standard Book of Spells Grade 5 and nothing.

It sounds to me like this is something a little higher than standard.

That's why I wanted to find my clones. I can only look through so many books at once.

[brokethecycle]

All right, I'm off then.

[And its probably a little while- he didn't find all of them, but he's got a line of about five Dippers trailing after him into the library. He glides in, looking around for Alpha Dipper.]

[mysterytwin]

[By the time Norman floats into the library, Dipper is already partially buried under a pile of books, ranging from thick old times to newer books. His face is currently buried in a book titled Curses and the Effects They Bear.]

[brokethecycle]

[Not surprising. Norman gives a fond eyeroll before he floats a little above him. He checks behind him to make sure none of the other Dippers have wandered off again.]

I didn't find them all but...

[Dipper looks up when he hears Norman speak, about to respond before he lets put a small, girlish squeal, book dropping from his hands to the table. After a moment of remembering that his friend was somehow a ghost now, he gave a small sigh, scratching the back of his head.]

Sorry about that. I kind of forgot you were...y'know.

[brokethecycle]

[KLSNDSDFS Norman recoils in the air and vanishes on reflex. After a few moments he reappears again, closer to the ground.]

Dead? Or ...Fake dead, I guess.

[mysterytwin]

[He looks apologetic and sheepish when his friend reappeared, standing up and leaning over the table and books to see him.]

Yeah...wow. You, uh, weren't kidding.

[brokethecycle]

[Hahaha, he feels a little on the spot and it makes him fidget. He shakes his head]

No. Um- but there has to be a way to fix it, right? I brought help.

[Nods over to the Dipper clones.]

[mysterytwin]

Oh right.

[Dipper clears his throat, gaining the attention of the five clones Norman found him.]

Alright, numbers 5, 9 and 12, I want you to look through this pile of books to my left. See if you can find anything remotely related to this. 13 and 6, go look at the bookshelves for more books on spell and transfiguration. Don't wander off this time.

[A small grumble was the only resistance he got as the five clones wandered to their tasks.]

[Norman watched Dipper bark orders to his doppelgangers and he nodded, impressed. ]

So, any luck?

[mysterytwin]

[He gives a small sigh, tugging his cap off to run husband fingers through his hair, putting it back on after.]

No. All I've found is the spell for cloning that I used last year. No luck on ghosts yet.

[brokethecycle]

[Frowns a little.]

How did you fix the clone problem the first time?

[mysterytwin]

[Dipper places his hat back on his head before he looked back at the book, turning the page.]

They were kinda paper thin-ish last time. All I had to do was throw some butterbeer at them and they melted.

[brokethecycle]

[Casts a wary glance over to one of the clones. He leans in and speaks in a hushed whisper.]

Have you tried...?

[mysterytwin]

[He nods, looking up at Norman again and returning the whisper.]

That was one of the first things I tried.

[brokethecycle]

Drat.

[Norman reaches for a book and realizes belatedly that he can't pick them up. He makes a noise of frustration and just floats up, crossing his arms.]

I know that I talk to the dead a lot but this is really not funny.

[mysterytwin]

[Dipper kind of gives him a small, wry smile before returning his attention to the book.]

I had no idea the castle ghosts were that talkative.
