#this will 6e the 9nly time that Kankri lies

He did.

It was hard f9r him gr9wing up, being s9 much 9lder than Salvad9r and I. He was 23, already serving in the military when we g9t 9ur letters, and I can't imagine that he wasn't a little 6it put 9ff 6y it. Salvad9r and I were the first magic 69rn in 9ur family, and the visits and letters fr9m Armand dwindled after he was t9ld.
It can 6e quite difficult f9r n9n-wizard si6lings t9 deal with magical si6lings, particularly 6eing the 9ldest. Even m9re difficult still is when their 9wn child exhi6its signs 9f the same magic, and they are left t9 w9nder what was s9 different a69ut them that they were the 9nly n9rmal 9ne.

I 6elieve that even muggles have their 9wn f9rm 9f magic, particularly when it c9mes t9 th9se they l9ve.
He sp9ke 9f y9u in his usual manner, 6ut I c9uld tell that 6eneath that he was s9 pr9ud 9f you. That he and y9ur m9ther had t9 take advantage 9f the 6rief weakening 6etween this w9rld and the next t9 return and make sure that y9u were d9ing alright. 6eing n9n-magical, he c9uld n9t stay a gh9st. 6ut he and y9ur m9ther saw en9ugh that day t9 rest in peace c9nfident that y9u were g9ing t9 6e just fine.
I pr9mised them I w9uld watch 9ver y9u, 6ut even th9ugh it is thr9ugh m9re indirect means I 6elieve that they are 69th still watching 9ver y9u as well. Th9se we l9ve never truly leave us, and I speak fr9m experience when I say that it is very difficult t9 leave s9me9ne 6ehind.
