OOC: Prospective - Katniss Everdeen
Character: Katniss Everdeen
Mun: Jess aka Tess/Amber-mun
Plot details: Figuring out what would work better for canon adaption.
So Katniss is from an oppressed district, not something that translates easily. I did decide on Edwinstowe Nottingham-shire because it has an active coal mine and she's from the district that mines coal. Also, it's in Sherwood forest and the whole Robin Hood thing works for why she'd ever learn to use a bow and arrow.
There are three options I could do for her background.
1. Just start of the series, nothing traumatizing happening to her. Easier option, but then it'll be harder for her to grow. None of the sacrificing could have happened and so on.
2. Because of the war being over, I could go post Hunger Games/Pre-Catching Fire, with like her village being attacked by a Dark Wizard during the war and she got caught up in the fighting back. During summer obviously. Mom still around and sister still alive. She'd be trying to deal with seeing people die around her and all that fun PTSD.
3. Again, because the war is over, I could just go totally post Mockingjay, with her sister being dead and her mom leaving her with their drunk neighbor, Haymitch, because she couldn't deal. This option would be almost as easy as option 1, but then I'm just bypassing everything.
I'm more partial to option 2, but I kinda want to hear what other people think about it. Also if anyone has an entirely different approach, I'm all ears.
